Trends From The 2012 Fall Toronto Gift Show

We’re back from a well-deserved vacation and revving to decorate! It was just what we needed before ramping up for a busy fall and winter season. One of the first things we did, other than checking our emails and voice mails, was to attend the 2012 Fall Toronto Gift Show.

We took a tour around the show and got into the spirit of gifts and décor. What we really noticed was a theme of European Victorian flavour. Not only was it like we went back in time, but we also got to take a trip to Europe… without all that jet lag.

We really loved the French ambiance. It was tres chic! As well, we couldn’t take our eyes off all the imports from Florence. This included elegant apothecary jars that are imprinted with Italian phrases. You can use these jars for anything in any room. There were also decanters and bottle toppers, which make a wonderful addition to your bar.

It was great to see that the mirrored furniture trend is still going strong. It adds to the refined look of crystal, a theme that was strong at the CGTA show. We saw it in lighting, pillows, mirrors, bottles and bedding. Finally, we noticed that aromatherapy is also growing in popularity, so this will be an interesting trend to watch in the upcoming seasons.

Take a look at some of our pictures from the show, and if you like anything you see, let us know – we’d be happy to order it in for you!

  1. Nice – looks like we may be losing a bit of that minimalist look finally! Thanks for sharing.
